Train service in the UK is well organized and mostly run in and out from main airports. Train tickets approximately cost £52 per one person to get to the Heathrow airport terminal from Cambridge. This sound is good if you are traveling solo and with one or two hand luggage. But there are other issues too. Especially when you are a student coming for a study, luggage is most definitely heavy and large so keep in mind between train station to terminal or to the accommodation you have to find another solution to take your luggage. All cost is roughly around £70. And then the time. If the train has one or more transits this may take up to 2 hours+ your time coming into the train station and walking into the terminal.you might save some money for a meal but now it sounds quite messed up to me as someone who is coming from a long distance flight. And the price increases with the number of passengers.
